Maryland State Police 157th Class Coin

The Maryland State Police is a full-service law enforcement agency whose employees are committed to providing the highest quality police services. Our mission is to be a statewide force for a safer Maryland, and our Troopers and civilian support staff are dedicated to fulfilling that mission together while upholding our core values of integrity, fairness, and service. Our Department fulfills an important role in law enforcement. As a State Police force, we work to coordinate efforts between local and federal law enforcement. Our statewide initiatives reduce traffic crashes, drunk driving, aggressive driving, unsafe vehicles, and other threats to highway safety. Concurrently, our criminal enforcement emphasis is on cross-border and inter-jurisdictional crime that involves illegal drug importation and distribution, apprehending fugitives, and reducing violent crime. This coin is a custom Maryland State Police challenge coin specifically commemorating Academy Class 157, which graduated on April 5, 2024. The center features a bee mascot wearing a traditional Maryland State Trooper campaign hat. The "Radar Bee" has been a mascot used by the department for decades to represent their traffic safety and radar enforcement.
