The Tacoma WMEC – 908 is a 270 – foot famous – class medium endurance cutter of the United States Coast Guard. Homeported at the Naval Station, Newport in Rhode Island the ship – affectionately nickname the mighty T specializes in maritime law-enforcement, drug indiction, migrant operations, and search and rescue. She has a crew of roughly 14 officers and 86 enlisted personnel. She has aviation facilities equipped with a flight deck and a hanger capable of launching and servicing HH – 65 dolphin and HH – 60 Jayhawk helicopters
