Deputy Sheriff William Henry Smith Jr., made the ultimate sacrifice while serving the people of Baldwin County. On June 6, 2021, Deputy Smith lost his life during a water rescue near Fort Morgan while attempting to save distressed swimmers. A veteran law enforcement officer and firefighter, he dedicated his life to serving others throughout a career marked by courage, compassion, and selfless service.
