Medal

Awarded for injury sustained from enemy action, requires treatment by a medical officer. Includes those wounded by international terrorist attacks or friendly fire during combat.   lt is the oldest military award still given to US military members. It should be noted that this challenge coin is to be engraved and given to a purple heart recipient for him or her to carry with them at all times.
